The Government of Pakistan has announced a temporary pause in Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq in view of the upcoming festival of Eid ul Fitr, Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar, announced on Wednesday.
According to the official statement, the decision was taken on Pakistan’s own initiative and also at the request of brotherly countries, including the Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey.
The pause in the operation against militants and their support infrastructure in Afghanistan will remain in effect from midnight March 18/19, 2026, to midnight March 23/24, 2026.
The government said the step has been taken as a gesture of goodwill and in line with Islamic values.
However, it has been warned that if there is any cross border attack, drone strike, or terrorist incident inside Pakistan, the operation will resume immediately with full force.

Propaganda about civilian casualties in attack a lie: DG ISPR
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General (DG) of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), spoke in an interview on a private news channel on Wednesday.
DG ISPR shared key details about the recent attack in Kabul during an interview with senior journalist Hamid Mir on his television show.
He stated that the actual target of the operation was an Afghan Taliban ammunition and drone depot.
The DG ISPR rejected claims of civilian casualties, calling them completely baseless and contrary to facts.
He said the intensity of explosions after the strike was witnessed globally, indicating the presence of a large cache of weapons at the site.
