Pakistan and Croatia have agreed to establish a Croatian visa processing facility in Pakistan, a move expected to simplify the visa application process and strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The development was announced in a joint communiqué issued following a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Croatia’s Foreign Minister Dr Gordan Grlić Radman.
According to the communiqué, the two leaders held detailed discussions on the full spectrum of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation, describing Dr Grlić Radman’s visit as an important opportunity to deepen ties between Pakistan and Croatia.
The foreign ministers agreed to maintain high-level contacts and expand cooperation in trade, investment and development. They also expressed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in climate change, tourism, infrastructure, information technology and port development.
The two sides further agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the diplomatic academies of Pakistan and Croatia at the earliest opportunity.
During the meeting, both countries also agreed to open a Croatian visa processing facility in Pakistan, a step expected to make the visa application process more convenient for Pakistani citizens while promoting greater people-to-people exchanges.
The communiqué added that the two foreign ministers agreed to make full use of the bilateral political consultation mechanism by maintaining regular engagement. They also stressed the need to improve market access and strengthen links between the business communities of both countries.
