Governor KP slams provincial leadership over rising terrorism in Tirah, Kurram

Faisal Karim Kundi

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has sharply criticised the provincial government over the resurgence of terrorism in the region. In a tweet on X, he questioned the accountability of the provincial leadership, pointing out that a peaceful province handed over in 2013 is once again under the shadow of terror.

Faisal Karim Kundi wrote on X, “If a peaceful province was handed over to the provincial government in 2013 and today it is once again in the grip of terrorism, then who is responsible if not the provincial leadership?”

The governor further condemned claims by the chief minister that intelligence-based operations were underway without government approval, saying such statements reflect not just incompetence but a complete collapse in governance.

Mentioning the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in Tirah and Kurram, Kundi stressed that what citizens need is leadership, not rhetoric. He urged the government to prioritise security and the immediate rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) over political drama, stressing that decisive action, not speeches, is essential to restore peace in the province.
