Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Police Academy and addressed under training Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).
On this occasion Mohsin Naqvi announced that plots would be allotted to ASPs upon their passing out.
He said the current police batch would be trained according to international standards, and ASPs would be sent to Beijing for one month of specialized training.
The interior minister added that modern training modules would be introduced to further improve police training. He emphasized ensuring concrete steps to enhance officers’ professional competence and practical skills.
Mohsin Naqvi also expressed his desire to improve officers’ salaries and assured that promotion-related issues would be resolved.
Earlier, the Commandant of the National Police Academy briefed the interior minister. The Deputy Commandant, Additional Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, and other senior officers were also present on this occasion.
Mohsin Naqvi announces residential plots for police officers
Earlier the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Police Foundation (NPF) and chaired a high-level meeting to review its performance and welfare initiatives.
The acting Managing Director briefed the minister on ongoing projects and institutional progress.
Key decisions included providing residential plots to ASPs under training at the National Police Academy on easy annual installments. Each year, 10 inspectors, sub-inspectors, and ASIs from across the country will be selected for overseas training courses.
The NPF will also bear education expenses for the children of 15 constables admitted to top universities.
Additionally, five SP/SSP officers will receive annual foreign scholarships for AI degree programs. The minister sought a comprehensive plan to enhance NPF resources and praised the team for turning the foundation from deficit to surplus, Saying that the goal of making NPF a dynamic and effective police welfare institution. Senior NPF officials attended the meeting.
