The government has decided to launch a ‘Support Card’ for widowed women under which financial assistance of Rs100,000 will be provided.

Approval has been granted for the issuance of the Support Card to provide financial support to widowed women. The scheme will be introduced by the end of this month. Under this initiative eligible widows will receive financial assistance directly from the Zakat Fund.

Each eligible widow will be given a one-time payment of Rs100,000. In addition a widow with one child will receive an extra Rs25,000 and a widow with two children will be provided an additional Rs50,000.

The Zakat Department has allocated a total of Rs4 billion for this welfare project aimed at providing economic support to widowed women and their children and reducing their financial difficulties.

This initiative is an important step taken under the government’s social welfare programs to support vulnerable and underprivileged segments of society.

Here’s how to get Rs10,000 monthly from govt scheme

Earlier, the government announced a relief package for the citizens with Rs10,000 monthly for deserving people.

As per details, the Punjab government introduced a new scheme. Under this scheme, families who struggle to make ends meet and cannot afford to buy basic needs of life will get Rs10,000 from Ramazan nigehban package.

The government has allocated Rs47 billion for the Ramazan package which will be given to deserving families this Ramazan.

The decision was made at a meeting that was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The purpose of the meeting was to review the preparations for Ramazan and providing assistance to the public across the province.

Under the package, 4.2 million deserving families will receive financial assistance in the month of Ramazan. More than two million beneficiaries will be provided Nigehban Cards which will allow them to receive cash assistance and purchase essential commodities.
