Govt introduces online system to track complaints

Complaints online system

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has rolled out a new online tracking system for complaints registered through its 15-helpline enhancing transparency and citizen convenience.

The system allows residents to monitor the progress of their complaints 24/7.

Upon FIR registration citizens receive a WhatsApp message containing the complaint’s e-tag number, details and a download link. FIRs can be downloaded from home and applicants are provided with a username and password to check the status and submit feedback.

Women can also access legal guidance and follow-up services via the Virtual Women Police Station. The Safe City post-FIR follow-up service ensures that affected women remain in continuous contact and receive proper assistance.

Citizens can track their complaints at feedback.psca.gop.pk or reach the Virtual Women Police Station by dialing 15 and selecting option 2.

NADRA shifts to online verification process

In a separate development the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced Nishan-e-Pakistan, a new online verification system, which aims at modernising the verification process.

This new facility introduced by NADRA will allow both regulated private sector organisations and government institutions to access secure and authenticated verification services through a single digital portal.

The procedures for registration, access and subscription will now be completed online. It removes the need for repeated approvals and lengthy paperwork.

The NADRA officials state that this initiative will be particularly beneficial to telecom companies, financial institutions and banks. These institutions have for a long time relied on time-consuming manual practices to verify customer identities.

The initiative is a part of the government’s Digital Economy Enhancement Project. The project aims at strengthening national digital infrastructure and accelerating delivery across sectors.

According to NADRA the new system will not only improve security and transparency and will make the online process fully digital.

Implementing the “Nishan-e-Pakistan” onboarding process will gear up and ensure compliance with legal requirements, and ensure data protection.
