The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led PML-N government has shown willingness to hold dialogue with the opposition for the swift resolution of controversial issues.
“Controversial issues raised by the opposition can be resolved through dialogue, and the government is ready to hold talks to address political differences”, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has expressed this while talking to a private TV Channel program on Wednesday.
He stressed the importance of engagement between the prime minister and the opposition, stating that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif believes in maintaining dialogue with political opponents as part of his policy.
Responding to a question, Chaudhry said the Prime Minister has taken the federal cabinet into confidence following his meeting with the Chief Minister of KP, Sohail Afridi.
He added that the prime minister directed the finance minister and the planning minister to fulfil the legitimate demands put forward by the KP Chief Minister.
The federal minister further revealed that the leader of the opposition is expected to meet the prime minister soon, with Rana Sanaullah playing a key role in facilitating the meeting. He said the prime minister has decided to personally visit the opposition leader’s chamber to hold discussions.
Emphasising the need for political harmony, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said there is no personal animosity with the opposition, only political differences. He reiterated that all contentious issues can be resolved through mutual consultation and dialogue, and assured that the government remains open to discussions.
