Are you eager to get your hand on Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6, well, the wait has not over yet as Rockstar Games announced another delay.
The GTA developer Rockstar Games made the announcement regarding the delay of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, told GamesIndustry.biz that he was “confident in the date, that’s why we set it.”
He added, “We are trying very hard to deliver the most extraordinary interactive entertainment experience ever created. Rockstar and we are aligned on that, we’re feeling really good about it.”
GTA 6 Release Date
The game was scheduled for release on May 26, 2026. GTA 6 had previously been targeted for a 2025 release date before it was originally delayed to May 26, 2026. However a new date has been announced for the GTA 6. New date of the release is November 19, 2026.
GTA 6 has been highly anticipated, in part because the previous entry in the series was released in September 2013. The 13-year long gap between releases is the longest the series has ever experienced.
What’s New
Set in the fictional state of Leonida, GTA 6 follows the adventures of criminal couple Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Players will be able to control both characters as they roam Leonida, which includes a return to the titular metropolis of 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
As of 2025, GTA V was the second-highest-selling video game of all time, with publisher Take Two Interactive saying the game had moved 220 million units.
Grand Theft Auto VI

More than a decade after Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games is finally bringing players back to the world of GTA. The first trailer for GTA VI broke records and confirmed that the game takes place in Leonida, a fictional version of Florida that includes the famous Vice City.
For the first time in the series, players will control two protagonists, a man and a woman named Lucia and Jason. The trailer showed unbelievably detailed graphics and a dense, living world. Set to release in 2025, GTA VI will only continue to build hype and is expected to set a new standard for open-world games.
