WEB DESK: Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive have officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 will launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026.

GTA 6 will debut exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with the PC version following Rockstar’s tradition by arriving later, estimated between late 2026 and 2027.

The November date came with a six-month shift from the original May 2026 window. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated the extra time ensures “the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve,” allowing Rockstar to chase “perfection” rather than rush development.

Despite rumors of “development hell,” insiders revealed that the game has been content-ready for some time.

GTA 6 returns players to a reimagined Vice City in the modern fictional state of Leonida, a satirical nod to Florida. The story centres on protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the series’ first female lead, in a “Bonnie and Clyde” narrative.

GTA Online just dropped 3 huge mansions: how are fans reacting?

Earlier, Rockstar Games launched a new GTA Online update called “A Safehouse in the Hills.” Players can now buy three luxury mansion properties with a wide range of new features and activities.

The new mansions are the Richman Villa, Tongva Estate and Vinewood Residence. Each property includes an AI Assistant that allows fast travel, party hosting and business support.

Players also get a Master Control Terminal to manage their businesses from inside the mansion. Every mansion has space for a personal vehicle, a rooftop helipad, a 20 vehicle garage, a gym, a yoga area, a swimming pool and a hot tub.

A pet area, a salon with a barber and tattoo artist and trophy displays are also included. Interior upgrades such as an armoury, Arcade, car podium, vehicle workshop and a security team are available as well.

The update adds new vehicles. These include the Pfister X treme, the Übermacht Sentinel XS4 and the Grotti GT750.

Players also get new missions. KnoWay Out lets players help Avi Schwartzman stop a surveillance network built by a self-driving car company.

Leaders receive a GTA 400,000 bonus for completing the mission. Rockstar has also introduced a new Mission Creator. It allows players to design and share their own missions.

GTA Plus members receive extra benefits. They get early access to the Vapid FMJ MK V and new upgrade options from the vehicle workshop inside the mansions.

They also get a discount on HSW upgrades and new remote management features through The Vinewood Club App.

The update includes a new Getaway Driver random event, four new emotes and Missile Lock On Jammer support for 50 more vehicles.

Rockstar says more content will be released soon, which includes festive events, new vehicles, missions and seasonal modes.
