The Government of Punjab has reportedly hired two foreign pilots to operate the newly purchased Gulfstream G500 aircraft.
According to reports, the two pilots will receive monthly salaries of $32,000 and $28,000, bringing the total monthly salary cost to $60,000. At an estimated exchange rate of Rs283 per dollar, this equals nearly Rs17 million per month.
Annual cost for Gulfstream G500 aircraft
Officials say the provincial government has allocated about Rs861.5 million annually to cover the pilots’ salaries and other operational expenses related to the Gulfstream G500 aircraft.
Additional cost
In addition, the government plans to spend around Rs. 65 million on mandatory refresher training for pilots and engineers in the United States. Training activities are expected to cost Rs143.3 million, while operational programs and subscription services for the Gulfstream G500 aircraft will require about Rs50 million.
Fuel expenses
Fuel expenses for the Gulfstream G500 aircraft are estimated at Rs50 million, and insurance costs are expected to reach nearly Rs65 million.
Officials also confirmed that spare parts for the Gulfstream G500 aircraft have already arrived, and the necessary duties have been paid. However, about Rs 1.8 million is still pending for equipment rental.
The luxury Gulfstream G500 aircraft was recently acquired by the Government of Punjab for official travel and administrative purposes.
