Gwadar development was halted during PTI tenure, says Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Friday that the development work was halted during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) tenure, the private media channel reported.  


Ahsan Iqbal delivered his remarks while addressing a ceremony for the promotion of the Blue Economy in Balochistan. The federal minister stated that the law and order situation in Balochistan worsened when incarcerated PTI founder Imran was in power. He further added that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) wants progress in Balochistan.


He also confirmed to the audience that the phase of development in Gwadar will start again and give assurance for the permanent peace in the province.  


Ahsan Iqbal informed the attendees that two projects, including the Karachi Shipyard project and the project related to Gadani, are also in the list of the federal government’s upcoming development initiatives.

For misleading and baseless allegations, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a show cause notice to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Shafiullah Jan.

According to ECP Shafiullah Jan had made remarks on a Charsadda based journalist’s YouTube channel.

  According to the ECP, Shafiullah Jan made misleading and baseless allegations regarding Forms 45 and 47 in connection with the Haripur by-election.

The commission has sought a written explanation along with supporting evidence within seven days.

The ECP said that Shafiullah Jan made comments on the election process and those comments could create confusion in the public. It also said that such allegations about the electoral process are not acceptable and must be address accordance with the law.
