Gwadar fisherman hit by Israeli projectile in Iranian waters amid US Iran war

A fisherman belonging to Gwadar was fatally injured when debris from an Israeli projectile, which was intercepted by Iranian air defense systems, struck his boat in Iranian water amid US Israel war on Iran.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gwadar, Naqibullah Kakar, confirmed to a newspaper that the incident occurred on Saturday, identifying the deceased as Muhammad Tayyab, a resident of Gannz, a small coastal town located in Balochistan’s Gwadar district.

District Police Officer Attaur Rehman also verified the occurrence and stated that Tayyab had “ventured into Iranian waters to procure Iranian oil.”

Attempt made to target fishing vessels in Iranian waters

DC Kakar speculated that there was an attempt to target fishing vessels in a coastal region of Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province.

However, the projectile was intercepted and neutralised by the Iranian air defense system.

“A fragment of the debris from that drone or missile impacted Tayyab’s fishing boat, leading to his death,” he further stated.

The officials indicated that Tayyab’s remains were transported back to his hometown, Gannz, by sea, where he was subsequently laid to rest.
