Hailstorm, heavy rain cool down Lahore weather

Hailstorm heavy rain in Lahore

A strong spell of rain accompanied by a hailstorm swept across Lahore on Wednesday evening, bringing pleasant weather after days of intense heat in the provincial capital.

Dark clouds covered the city during the afternoon before strong winds, thunder, and heavy rainfall began in several areas, including Gulberg, Johar Town, DHA, Model Town, and Cantt. The sudden hailstorm caught many residents by surprise as ice pellets covered roads, rooftops, and parked vehicles for several minutes.

The temperature dropped significantly after the downpour, giving residents relief from hot and humid conditions that had persisted over the past few days. Many citizens were seen enjoying the cool weather while videos and pictures of the rain and hailstorm quickly spread across social media platforms.

The cloudy weather and cool breeze created a refreshing atmosphere across the city, with families stepping outside to enjoy the change in temperature. Children were also seen playing in the rain and collecting hailstones in different neighbourhoods.

According to weather experts, the change in weather was caused by a western weather system affecting the upper and central parts of the country. Meteorologists have predicted more rain and thunderstorms in different parts of Punjab during the next 24 hours.

Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious during unstable weather conditions, especially during strong winds and thunderstorms. Citizens have also been urged to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain and to stay updated with official weather advisories.

The rain spell has turned the weather pleasant in Lahore, with cooler temperatures expected to continue over the coming days.
