The Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the deadline for submitting the second instalment under the government Hajj Scheme 2027 by one day, allowing intending pilgrims to pay their dues until midnight tonight. According to a spokesperson for the ministry, around 1,200 pilgrims have yet to submit their second instalment.

The ministry is sending individual reminders to the remaining applicants, urging them to complete their payments before the extended deadline. The spokesperson warned that failure to pay the second instalment by the deadline would result in the cancellation of the Hajj application.

However, the ministry clarified that pilgrims whose applications are cancelled will receive a refund of their first instalment. The application process for Hajj 2027 began on August 17.

At the time, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousuf announced that applications and payments for the first instalment would be accepted from that date, while the second instalment was scheduled for October. Under the government Hajj Scheme 2027, a quota of 107,526 pilgrims has been allocated, with an additional 30,000 places designated separately for the short-duration Hajj package.

Applications were processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Meanwhile, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) has been designated as an official partner for receiving Hajj applications. Applicants can submit their applications through any of the bank’s more than 1,700 branches across the country.

The ministry has also stated that no service fee will be charged for this facility, in accordance with Islamic banking principles. Pilgrims who have yet to pay their second instalment have been advised to complete the process before midnight to avoid cancellation of their applications.
