Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President and former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif visited the Digital Communication Department (DCD) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Information Secretary Ashfaq Ahmed Khahil and other senior ministry officials welcomed Hamza Shehbaz Sharif.

Attaullah Tarar gave Hamza Shehbaz a detailed briefing about different sections of the Digital Communication Department. He also explained its scope and work.
“Digital media has become an effective way to share information and connect with the public in the present era,” Attaullah Tarar said.
He said preventing negative propaganda and fake news against Pakistan was an important responsibility of the Digital Communication Department.
He said highlighting the government’s positive steps and the national narrative on digital platforms according to modern needs was very important.
Attaullah Tarar said the Digital Communication Department and PTV Digital were playing an important role in achieving this goal.
Efforts of field of digital communication
Hamza Shehbaz showed great interest in the ongoing activities of different sections of the Digital Communication Department.
He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Information in the field of digital communication.
“Digital media is an important way to provide timely information to the public and effectively highlight government steps,” Hamza Shehbaz said.
He said effective use of digital platforms could help present Pakistan’s positive image and national narrative to the world.
Hamza Shehbaz praised the ongoing initiatives of the Ministry of Information in digital communication. He also appreciated the use of modern technology.
The meeting also included a discussion on public communication and effective outreach through digital technology, social media and other platforms.
The participants also discussed ways to further expand digital access to content through PTV Digital.
Hamza Shehbaz was also briefed on the ongoing initiatives in the field of digital communication.
Federal Minister Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Minister of State Abdul Rehman Kanju, Prime Minister’s Media Coordinator Badr Shehbaz Waraich and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Talha Barki were also present on the occasion.
