Pakistani cricketer Salman Mirza has been fined a heavy penalty for allegedly harassing a woman during the team’s tour of Sri Lanka.
According to media reports, the incident came to light when the hotel management filed a formal complaint with the team management about Salman Mirza’s behaviour.
The hotel staff claimed that the player had allegedly harassed a woman, after which immediate action was taken and the matter was taken seriously.
Sources said that based on the details provided by the hotel management and the initial investigation, the team management found Salman Mirza guilty of violating the code of conduct and imposed a fine on him.
The player has also been given a strict warning to ensure the prestige of the national team is not harmed.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan cricket team recently finished its participation in the ICC T20 World Cup, exiting in the Super 8 stage after a poor performance. The Pakistan men’s cricket team is now set to tour Bangladesh in March for a three-match One Day International (ODI) series.
Pakistan will arrive in Bangladesh on March 9 and hold a practice session on March 10 ahead of the opening match. The first ODI will be played on March 11, followed by the second on March 13 and the third on March 15.
All three matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. This will be Pakistan’s second tour of Bangladesh since July 2025. During that previous visit, Bangladesh clinched the T20 International series.
In a recent exchange of tours between the two nations, Bangladesh toured Pakistan in May and June 2025. On that occasion, Pakistan secured a 3-0 T20 series victory under the leadership of Salman Ali Agha.
The upcoming ODI series is expected to further intensify competition between the two sides as both teams look to build momentum ahead of future international assignments.
