Haris Rauf (Lahore Qalandars) shared his thoughts about the unusual change in the colour of the ball from white to pink during the first game of the 11th edition of Pakistan Super League at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Rauf said the precise cause of the colour change was unclear. He speculated that the ball might have turned pink as a result of friction with the pitch surface during the game.
He also referred to one point in the match when even after the ball came into contact, the bails did not fall. He noted that such incidents occur in cricket.
Reflecting on his performance, the right-arm pacer conceded that the conditions on the pitch did not suit him.
However, he stated that he is determined to improve and said that he would like to bowl with more pace in future matches so that he can increase his wicket-taking ability.
Rauf stressed that he looks forward to each game as a new chance as he recognises that his performances don’t always meet people’s expectations.
He went further to identify the complications of bowling during the timely moments in the game, especially the middle ones, and the death.
According to Rauf, scoring wickets in the final stages of an innings is still one of the most difficult tasks for a fast bowler.
Discussing about team dynamics, Rauf commented on the great bowling unit of Lahore Qalandars which boasts of quality spinners and good bench strength.
He said any player from the squad is capable of being called upon to perform at any given time.
Meanwhile, a new rule in this PSL season has been added that the captains are allowed to submit 2 possible playing XI’s before the toss with the final playing individuals being decided after the toss.
