Haris Rauf vows comeback after T20 World Cup snub

After being left out of T20 World Cup Squad, the Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has decided to commit to improving his cricketing craft.

The 15-member ICC T20 World Cup Squad was finalised by the Pakistan Cricket Board this week, former captain Babar Azam was selected but his team mates, the wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan and Harif Rauf failed to make the cut.

The 31-year old fast bowler spoke in a special interview in Australia and stressed that there was no need for disappointment, if he was not selected for the upcoming World Cup. He further added that not being selected does not mean the end of his career.

Harif Rauf did say that every player would feel regret for missing a major tournament, but that does not mean he will despair; he will continue to focus on his performance and keep making himself better.

Harif Rauf, born in Rawalpindi said that he will continue to work on his skills and believes that his performances have significantly increased since Asia Cup.

 He also wished luck for the national team playing in the T20 World Cup and hopes that his side will perform strongly in the tournament.

When asked about a question regarding criticism, Rauf replied that there is a big difference between constructive criticism and personal abuse. He explained that players are also effected badly when Pakistan loses a match.

Rauf said he and the other players in the team always give their best when representing Pakistan.

Talking about death overs he said that it’s very challenging and termed it as one of the toughest roles in modern cricket.

The T20 World Cup squad for Pakistan features Khawaja Nafay, Salman Ali Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Usman Khan, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Salman Mirza, Usman Tariq and Babar Azam.
