Indian rapper Badshah is facing mounting legal pressure after authorities in Haryana intensified action against his song ‘Tateeree’.

Haryana Police said they have removed 857 online links linked to the track so far.

This includes 154 videos from YouTube and 703 reels from Instagram.

Police officials said the move is aimed at limiting the spread of content they consider objectionable.

FIR and court developments

An FIR was registered in Panchkula on March 6, 2026, following a complaint alleging objectionable lyrics and visuals in the song.

Authorities later told the Punjab and Haryana High Court that the artist had joined the investigation.

Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, also challenged an order by the Haryana State Commission for Women, which had directed police to arrest him.

However, state counsel informed the court that no action would be taken based on that order, and the matter was not pursued further.

Monitoring of online platforms

Haryana’s Director General of Police, Ajay Singhal, said authorities are closely monitoring digital platforms.

He added that the state has a zero-tolerance policy towards content that undermines the dignity of women and minors.

Senior officer Shibash Kabiraj said those who continue to share or create videos using the song could face legal action, including restrictions on their social media accounts.

Response and wider context

Badshah had earlier shared a video on Instagram, apologising if the song had hurt sentiments.

Police say notices have been issued to platforms to remove all versions of the track, including re-uploads and short clips.

The case reflects growing scrutiny of online content in India, particularly material that raises concerns about social responsibility and legal compliance.
