The provincial Disaster Management Authority has issued a flood alert in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to the expected rains in the province from April 2 to 4. The authority warned about heavy floods in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the provincial Disaster Management Authority, there are chances of heavy flooding in Nowshera district due to the Kabul River in the area. The authority also confirmed that the chances of flooding are high in the district due to small streams and tributaries.

The authority also said that there are chances of flash flooding in Kohat Toi, Kurram River, and Gomal River.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued special instructions for the deputy commissioners of Nowshera, Charsadda, Mohmand, Bannu, Kohat, Kurram, and Dera Ismail Khan.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also directed related authorities to identify flood-prone and vulnerable areas for the timely evacuation. The provincial authorities also urged citizens to avoid visiting rivers and flooded areas in the province.
Heavy rains expected in KP
The PDMA also instructed the relevant district authorities to take precautionary measures and informed citizens about the weather conditions in the province for the next two days. At the same time, other Emergency services, including 1122 and Civil Defence, are on high alert for expected rains in the province.
Authorities have also advised livestock owners to move their animals to safer areas due to the risk of heavy flooding. They may restrict traffic in sensitive regions as the heavy flood threat increases. Officials have stressed the need to provide timely relief and medical aid to affected people, while continuing to monitor rivers and streams closely and issuing updates every six hours.
