PESHAWAR: National Highways and Motorway police (NHMP) released a formal notice that the M-1 Motorway would be closed due to heavy fog.
The traffic between Peshawar and Burhan is affected by the blockade. The poor visibility also disrupted travel between Peshawar and Rashakai.
The move will facilitate the safety of road users.
The officials of NHMP indicated that the motorway would be closed. They will also not reopen the route until the fog is completely cleared.
Moreover, a powerful warning was given by the police to every driver. They encouraged drivers not to use the routes that were affected unnecessarily.
Before the start of their journey, drivers have to wait until the weather is better. High-speed accidents are very risky when there is low visibility.
Traffic Diversions and Safety
The road closures have led to certain traffic diversions within the area. Drivers who are heading to Islamabad should find other ways.
This has led the police to use additional teams. These officers will help the stranded commuters and control the traffic. The NHMP also solicited the complete cooperation of the people at this period. They should comply with any instructions by the staff in the police.
Drivers should be very cautious before getting on wheels in the vicinity. They must not drive rashly and use fog lights strictly.
Besides this fact, authorities requested commuters to monitor official NHMP social media. As soon as it becomes possible to see, the police will declare the reopening of the M-1.
Finally, the sealing is a precautionary measure. It assists in avoiding huge congestions in cases of heavy fog. This is a preventive strategy that saves lives and order.
