Heavy rain couple with gusty winds hit Islamabad on Friday afternoon bring some respite from the hot and humid weather that has been prevailing for the last couple of days.
According to the met office this current spell of rain is likely to continue for a few hours and the next spell of rain is expected from Sunday afternoon (August 30) which is expected to continue for a day or two.
The temperatures in Islamabad had reached 36 degree Celsius with high humidity.
In Karachi, hot and humid conditions are expected to continue as reduced sea-breeze activity combines with high humidity. The city’s maximum temperature is forecast at 33°C, while the current temperature is around 29°C with humidity at 75%. Southwesterly winds are blowing at 12 kilometres per hour.
Lahore and most districts of Punjab are also likely to experience hot and humid weather. Lahore’s temperature could rise to 37°C, while the minimum is expected to remain around 29°C.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to remain predominantly hot and humid, although isolated rain is likely in Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Torghar, Haripur and South Waziristan. Peshawar could record a maximum temperature of 37°C.
