Heavy rain forecast across KP within next few hours

The Meteorological Department has issued a fresh alert forecasting rain in several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next 2 to 4 hours.

According to the latest advisory, rainfall is expected in North Waziristan, Kurram, and Parachinar, while other affected areas include Kohat, Orakzai, Bannu, Peshawar, Charsadda, and Haripur.

The forecast also covers Khyber, Nowshera, Dir, Swabi, Drosh, Shangla, Buner, Swat, and Kalam, where intermittent showers are likely.

Officials say rainfall in upper regions is expected to bring down the intense heat currently gripping the province. However, the department has also warned of the possibility of hailstorms at isolated locations during this period.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel amid potentially hazardous weather conditions. Meanwhile, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms has already begun in parts of Khyber District, providing relief from rising temperatures. In Peshawar, gusty winds have turned the skies dark, with widespread dusty conditions affecting visibility across the city.

The Meteorological Department has advised residents to remain alert as the weather system continues to develop across the region. Visibility has been reduced in several areas due to strong winds, causing difficulties for residents. After two days of intense heat, the weather has changed, and cool winds have begun to blow along with the stormy conditions.

There is also a possibility of rain in several cities, including Islamabad. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain for today and tomorrow. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel.

People have been urged to remain cautious due to strong, dusty winds, as there is a risk of power outages in various areas caused by the stormy weather.
