The Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert as most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds tonight. Some areas may also see hail.
In northeastern Balochistan, southern Punjab, and upper Sindh, isolated showers with gusty winds and thunderstorms are possible. Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to remain cloudy, with intermittent rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will have partly cloudy skies, with Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, Haripur, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Sawabi, and Charsadda seeing isolated rain and thunderstorms. Snowfall is expected in high-altitude regions.
In Punjab, Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Khushab, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, and Bhakkar may see isolated rain with strong winds and thunderstorms. Heavy rain or hail is likely in upper districts.
Balochistan and Sindh are expected to remain mostly dry. Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will have intermittent rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms, with snowfall in mountainous areas.
Officials warn that heavy rain could trigger landslides in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Murree-Galyat region. Hill torrents and local streams in Dera Ghazi Khan may flood. Strong winds, hail, and lightning could damage weak structures such as electricity poles, billboards, and solar panels. Hail and storms may also harm standing crops in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Authorities urge citizens to remain cautious and avoid risky areas during severe weather conditions.
