The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC), has announced 75 fully funded scholarships for Pakistani students to pursue higher education in top Chinese universities under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2026.
According to the information shared by Pakistan’s HEC, the CSC has allocated 35 scholarships for Bachelor’s, 25 for Master’s, and 15 for PhD programs with the aim of promoting educational cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Program Overview
This prestigious scholarship opportunity for the students of Pakistan cover tuition fees, accommodation, health insurance, and a monthly stipend. However, travel expenses are to be borne by the awardees.
Moreover, selected students will complete a one-year Chinese language program, where required, before starting their main degree.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be Pakistani or AJ&K nationals (dual nationality not allowed).
- Be in good health and have completed the required education by the deadline.
- Meet CSC and university specific academic and language requirements.
Age limits:
- Undergraduate: Under 25 years with FA/FSc/A-Level or equivalent (12 years of education).
- Master’s: Under 35 years with a Bachelor’s (16 years of education).
- PhD: Under 40 years with a Master’s (MS/MPhil).
In addition, applicants applying for the scholarship must have a valid USAT (for undergraduate) or HAT (for Master’s/PhD) test score with at least 50/100 marks.
The official notification clarifies that test results from the December 7, 2025 session will be considered valid.
How to Apply
Applicants must apply online on both portals. The HEC Scholarship Portal and the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) Portal:
HEC Portal:
- Visit https://scholarship.hec.gov.pk.
- Complete your profile under “Learning Opportunities Abroad.”
- Submit and retain a signed copy for record.
- Ensure email and contact details are updated.
CSC Portal:
- Visit https://www.campuschina.org.
- Choose Program Category: Type A and Agency Number: 5861 (HEC Pakistan).
- Download and sign the completed application.
Note: Both application at these portals are mandatory. Incomplete or single portal submissions will be disqualified immediately.
Deadline:
Monday, 5 January 2026 (4:00 PM PST) on the HEC Scholarship Portal.
Additional Requirements
- Shortlisted candidates will later submit attested and translated documents, including CNIC, academic transcripts, study plan, passport, health certificate, and police clearance.
- Two recommendation letters (for Master’s/PhD) and CSCA test scores (for Bachelor’s) are required.
- Applicants under 18 must provide legal guardian documentation.
- No hard copies are needed at this stage.
