The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has revealed the final schedule for the Law Admission Test (LAT) for the year 2026, aimed at students aspiring to gain admission into the five-year undergraduate LLB program.
The test is compulsory for candidates who wish to enroll in law programs provided by institutions accredited by the HEC or the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC).
Students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or an equivalent Grade 12 education, as well as those who are awaiting their results, are eligible to apply for the test.
LAT structure 2026
The LAT is structured to assess candidates through various components, which include an essay, a personal statement, and multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
The MCQs will encompass subjects such as English, general knowledge, Islamic studies, Pakistan studies, Urdu, and basic mathematics.
The test is worth a total of 100 marks, and candidates must achieve a minimum of 50 marks to pass.
The announcement for the third LAT will be made on May 10, 2026.
Online registration will close on May 25, and roll number slips will be distributed on Thursday, June 11.
The test is scheduled for Sunday, June 21, with results to be declared on Monday, August 3.
The fourth LAT is set to be announced on July 26. Candidates may register online until August 10. Roll number slips will be issued on August 28, and the test will occur on September 6, with results announced on October 16. As per the calendar, the fifth and final LAT of the year will be announced on October 4.
The deadline for online registration is October 20, and roll number slips will be issued on November 6.
The schedule for the law admission test is for November 15, with results to be announced on December 24.
On the examination day, applicants must present their original CNIC, passport, or B-form, along with their academic documents, at the test center.
