Hot and dry weather is expected to continue in most parts of the country today for the next 24 hours. However Sindh, which is currently under the grip of a heat wave, is likely to receive some respite.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), hot weather conditions will continue in upper parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Balochistan and Sindh.
The temperature in Karachi is likely to touch 40 degree Celsius mark due to high humid conditions. Due to the humidity the temperature in Karachi will feel like 43 degree Celsius.
Due to the strong post-monsoon low pressure, sea breezes are likely to remain suspended. At present, a clear low-pressure system is present over Indian Gujarat which may further intensify creating a possibility of rain.
According to weather analysts, under the influence of this system, sea breezes have been cut off in Karachi, and there is a possibility that the system may move into the Arabian Sea.
The met office has predicted that thunderclouds may form in the outskirts of the city today, while on September 30, there is a chance of rain in parts of Karachi.
