How many textbook sets prepared by STB for year 2026–27?

The Sindh Textbook Board (STB) has successfully achieved its publishing target, preparing 5.2 million textbook sets for the academic year 2026–27.

This milestone ensures that students across the province will begin the new academic session fully equipped with their required learning materials.

Minister formally inaugurates book distribution process

Sindh’s Provincial Education Minister, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, has formally inaugurated the book distribution process and stated that every student would receive a new book on the first day of the new academic year.

He added that, to reduce the academic burden on children and promote quality education, the textbooks would be further improved in consultation with teachers and education experts.

The Provincial Education Minister attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest at Government Girls Lower Secondary School, Neelum Colony, Clifton.

Books published in different languages

The books have been published in Sindhi, Urdu and English. The Provincial Education Minister praised the Sindh Textbook Board for the timely publication of textbooks, saying that the institution has demonstrated responsibility and commitment.

The curriculum will include research, scientific thinking and the promotion of creative skills, along with modern trends in science, technology, mathematics, languages, and the social sciences. In addition, special attention will be given to topics such as religious tolerance, mutual respect, gender studies, and environmental protection.

The provincial minister stated that during the previous government, emphasis was placed on implementing a single national curriculum, which Sindh clearly and categorically opposed. Today, this position is being proven correct, as other provinces are now also discussing the inclusion of mother tongues as subjects, whereas Sindh had already adopted this principled stance.
