The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has explained the procedure for pensioners to re-obtain their Proof of Life Certificate through the Pak ID mobile application.

According to a statement issued by NADRA, pensioners are required to complete the verification process through the Pak ID app whenever their Proof of Life Certificate is requested again after one or six months.

A new certificate will be issued each time the verification process is successfully completed. The certificate will then be automatically submitted to the relevant pension-paying institution, eliminating the need for pensioners to submit it separately.

The development comes days after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the Proof of Life Certificate system for pensioners.

The prime minister described the new system as a major convenience for pensioners, saying the biometric and facial verification system would help serve people more efficiently.

He also congratulated the finance minister, NADRA chairman and finance secretary for introducing the initiative.

According to the prime minister, the new system will save pensioners from repeated visits to banks and make the process easier, particularly for elderly and disabled pensioners.
