If you have deleted your Snapchat account and want to recover it, it is still possible. Here’s how.
Users who have recently deleted their Snapchat account may still be able to recover it, but only within a limited time.
The platform allows a 30-day period during which a deactivated account can be restored by simply logging back in.
After that window closes, the account and its data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
30-day timeline
When a Snapchat account is deleted, it does not disappear immediately. Instead, the account is first deactivated for 30 days.
During this time, the user can reactivate it by signing in again.
To recover the account, users need to open the Snapchat app on their phone and enter their username and password.
If the account is still within the recovery period, a message will appear asking whether they want to reactivate it.
By selecting “Yes”, the account can be restored.
Users may also see a prompt explaining that the account can only be reactivated within a limited time.
After confirming and logging in again, the account should return to normal.
If an error message appears during login, users can try selecting continue and then enter their username and password again to complete the process.
What happens after 30 days?
Snapchat says that once the 30-day period ends, the account is permanently deleted from its system.
At that point, the profile, friends list, and saved data cannot be recovered.
Because of this, users who change their minds about deleting their account must log back in before the deadline passes.
How to delete a Snapchat account?
Users who want to remove their Snapchat account can do so through the mobile app or a web browser.
On a phone, the process begins by opening the Snapchat app and tapping the profile or Bitmoji icon.
From there, users can open Settings, scroll down, and select Delete Account.
The app will redirect them to a web page where they must log in and confirm the request.
The same option is also available through Snapchat’s account portal in a browser.
After logging in, users can choose Delete My Account, enter their password, and confirm the request.
A widely used social platform
Snapchat is a messaging and social media platform that allows people to share photos, short videos and stories with friends.
It also offers augmented reality filters, music features and location sharing through Snap Map.
While many users deactivate their accounts for privacy or personal reasons, the 30-day reactivation period offers a chance to reverse the decision if they change their mind.
