Rs 10,000 cash in Ramazan

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has made the Widow Sahara Card Scheme 2026 official to give financial support to widowed women.

Under the scheme deserving registered widows all across the province will be accessed to receive financial aid from Rs100,000 to Rs150,000.

The objective of the scheme, the government of Punjab said, is to provide economic support to the widowed women help them meet their basic needs and create opportunities for them to become self-reliant.

The statement added that the amount of financial assistance will be based on the structure of the family and the number of children.

Widows supporting one child will be given Rs125,000 (additional Rs25,000) while widow supporting two or more children would be given up to Rs150,000 (additional Rs50,000).

The maximum base assistance amount has been fixed at Rs100,000.

Officials said that the scheme is going to be implemented starting from February 2026 but the registration process will go on till March 14.

Applicants should be permanent residents of Punjab and should be widows. They will also have to submit NADRA-verified national identity card their husband’s death certificate along with children’s B-Form.

Two ways have been introduced for submitting applications. Widows may apply either through an online portal or they may visit registration centers near their home.

Authorities said that after biometric verification and scrutiny of the documents the financial assistance will be done in a transparent manner.

The government of Punjab has described such an initiative as a significant step in the progress of women welfare and social protection. It said that through the Widow Sahara Card Scheme thousands of deserving women will be provided immediate financial relief and support to live with dignity.

Earlier, the government announced a relief package for the citizens with Rs10,000 monthly for deserving people.

The Punjab government introduced a new scheme. Under this scheme, families who struggle to make ends meet and cannot afford to buy basic needs of life will get Rs10,000 from Ramazan nigehban package.
