Web Desk: Renowned Pakistani singer Humaira Arshad has voiced criticism over the selection of judges on the talent show Pakistan Idol, indirectly targeting superstar Fawad Khan.
Speaking during a television program, Humaira Arshad said that people who have no connection to music are being chosen as judges on the show.
“This is not the first time such people have been made judges,” she commented.
She further added that while sponsors may have their preferences, artists should accept offers, keeping their professional limits in mind.
Humaira Arshad further stated that celebrities can certainly participate as guests, but it is inappropriate for them to serve as judges and make decisions about musical talent.
“Judges in such programs should be people who truly understand music,” she emphasised.
Originally, Fawad Khan stepped into the industry as a singer. He began his career as a singer in the Pakistani rock band Entity Paradigm (EP) in 2000. Afterwards, he shifted to acting.
Now, in recent years, he has appeared mostly in films and commercials. He is even seen working in Bollywood and Hollywood.
With his appearance as a judge in the popular reality show, many believe that Fawad Khan is making a return to his musical roots.

However, people were quick to remind everyone that he started his musical career with Entity Paradigm (EP).
Singer and actor Haroon Shahid also weighed in on the debate via X (formerly Twitter). He is calling it “stupid” and defending Fawad Khan’s musical background.
He wrote, “What a stupid debate! The fact that she doesn’t know about Fawad and Bilal Bhai as musicians is the real alarming thing in all of this. This season of the Idol is doing well and we’ll see all these people craving for attention. I love the panel. All bases covered.”
