Recently, the esteemed Pakistani actor Humayun Saeed participated in the Lunch with Lillas podcast, where he talked about a personal story about his involvement in charity work.
In discussing this topic, Humayun Saeed stated, “I engage in a lot of charity work because I have experienced difficult times before entering the entertainment industry. I have been working since the age of 15. We faced hardships when my younger brother suffered a fall and became paralysed. He was the most attractive among us siblings.”
“I often felt inferior in terms of my appearance when compared to him. His illness transformed our lives. I witnessed pain up close due to my brother’s condition, as I frequently visited the hospital to address his various complications, such as bed sores. I observed my parents’ health deteriorating as a result of his illness. It is challenging to witness your parents in such a state. I often contemplated how individuals afford medical treatments, as I had explored numerous avenues for free healthcare. I faced financial difficulties during my brother’s illness, but when Allah blessed me, I felt it was my duty to give back. Therefore, I now do everything within my capacity.”, he added.
“Occasionally, I consider establishing an NGO, but I find it difficult to solicit funds. I cannot even request my own money from others. If I do not create an NGO, I contribute to those organisations that are already making a positive impact”, Humayun Saeed said further.
