Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) is preparing to bring more new energy vehicles (NEVs) to Pakistan as demand for hybrid and electric cars grows.
The company plans to launch several new models in the coming months. These include the BAIC Cannon Alpha, Tank 300 and Haval Jolion Max.
According to company management, the BAIC Cannon Alpha is expected to enter the Pakistani market at a competitive price. The new models will expand SAZEW’s range in the SUV and pickup segments.
Focus on plug-in hybrid vehicles
SAZEW is also increasing its focus on plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Company management expects the government’s upcoming auto policy to give more support to this segment.
The company has already entered the PHEV market with the Haval H6. It has also announced plans for more PHEV models such as the Cannon Alpha.
Management said the company is currently absorbing the higher GST cost. It has not passed the full increase on to customers.
Dealership network to grow
SAZEW is also expanding its dealership network in Pakistan. The company currently has 32 dealerships across the country. Another five to six outlets are expected to start operations soon.
The larger network will help the company improve sales and provide after-sales services to customers.
SAZEW is expanding at a time when competition in Pakistan’s NEV market is increasing. More local companies and new brands are now offering hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
The company has also announced plans to bring BAIC’s ARCFOX electric vehicle brand to Pakistan.
However, the company has not yet shared details about the models, prices or launch dates.
