Laura Russo, the commercial head of the Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, has emerged as a visible figure around the franchise as the eleventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is about to commence.
Russo is part of Kingsmen Cricket’s senior leadership and is also linked to the FKS Group. It is the investment group that secured the Hyderabad franchise during the PSL expansion auction earlier this year.
Her presence during the bidding process in Islamabad stood out, particularly as Kingsmen pushed through a winning bid to secure the new team slot.
As per the post on X, she has been called a ‘national crush’ in the HBL PSL 11.
New franchise entry in league
The Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen will make their debut in PSL 11, scheduled to run from March 23, 2026, to May 3, 2026.
This will be the first PSL season to feature eight teams, following the league’s expansion.
The franchise was officially awarded to the FKS consortium in January 2026 for PKR1.75 billion per year.
Hyderabad and Sialkot were confirmed as the two new cities after a competitive bidding process overseen by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Based in Hyderabad, Sindh, the team will play its home matches at Niaz Stadium.
Coaching staff, team squad
Former Australia fast bowler Jason Gillespie has been appointed head coach for the Kingsmen’s inaugural PSL campaign.
He will be supported by an experienced backroom staff, including Craig White and Grant Bradburn.
The squad features a mix of international and local players, including Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub and Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera.
Kingsmen’s international background
The Hyderabad team is part of Kingsmen Cricket’s wider operations, which include ownership of the Chicago Kingsmen in the United States.
The group has previously competed in American domestic leagues and claimed a title in 2024, giving it experience beyond Pakistan’s cricket system.
This background has shaped expectations around the franchise’s management structure and long-term planning.
For a new franchise, attention is firmly on how the Kingsmen will settle into Pakistan’s top domestic T20 competition.
