ISLAMABAD: Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan narrating the details of his ordeal while in custody of the Israeli forces said that he was subjected to severe torture.
In a video shortly after his release, the former senator said, “Alhamdulillah, I have been released. I have reached Jordan.”
Mushtaq Ahmed Khan was released from Israel’s captivity and is currently at the Pakistan Embassy in Amman, Jordan.
He said he was held for six days in a notorious Israeli prison during his detention, his hands were handcuffed and his feet were chained. He was also denied drinking water and access to medicines.
The former JI senator said he staged a three-day hunger strike to press his demands.
He vowed: “We will break the blockade of Gaza. We will go again and again.
We will bring the perpetrators of genocide to justice.”
Former Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) senator Muhstaq Ahmad Khan was detained by Israel last week after it intercepted a flotilla of boats carrying aid for Gaza.
On Monday, around 170 activists, captured by Israel after it intercepted an international aid flotilla bound for Gaza, were deported to Greece and Slovakia. However, the former Pakistani senator was not amongst those deported on Monday.
