United Arab Emirates cricketer Asif Khan has been handed a 15-month ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for violating its anti-doping regulations. According to the ICC, Asif Khan accepted a 15-month suspension after testing positive for a banned substance. He was tested on September 8, 2025.
According to the organisation, his suspension will run from September 8, 2025, to December 7, 2026. Asif Khan will be permitted to train with a team or use the facilities of a club or ICC member association from October 8, 2026. He will be eligible to return to competitive cricket from December 8, 2026, once his suspension has been completed.
The ICC also confirmed that Asif Khan’s individual results from September 8, 2025, until the start of his provisional suspension on December 29, 2025, have been disqualified in accordance with the ICC Anti-Doping Code. Any medals, points, prize money, or other honours earned during this period will also be withdrawn.
Asif Khan’s last official match was in December 2025, when he represented the Gulf Giants against MI Emirates in an International League T20 (ILT20) match in Abu Dhabi. He has not played in any official match so far this year. He featured in several matches during the previous ILT20 season but struggled to find his best form. His last official international appearance for the UAE came in a T20 International against Pakistan in Dubai on September 17, 2025.
