ICC T20 rankings: Stars rise, records loom in intense competition

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its latest T20 player rankings, triggering significant movement across the all-rounders, batters and bowlers’ charts and intensifying competition in the shortest format of the game.

In the all-rounders’ category, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has once again claimed the No 1 position, reaffirming his dominance with consistent performances.

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza has climbed one spot to secure second place, while Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee has surged two positions to fourth. Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai made one of the biggest gains in the category, jumping four places to fifth. Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz also impressed by moving up two spots to seventh among all-rounders.

In the batting rankings, India’s Abhishek Sharma has retained his top position, continuing his strong run in T20 cricket. Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka advanced three places to third, while India’s Tilak Varma climbed one spot to fourth. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan moved up two places to claim fifth position.

One of the most notable jumps in the batting list came from India’s Ishan Kishan, who rocketed 17 places to eighth, reflecting a remarkable improvement in form.

Among bowlers, India’s Varun Chakravarthy continues to lead the standings. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan moved up one place to second, while Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed slipped one spot to third. Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans registered a significant rise, climbing 10 places to fifth. Meanwhile, Mohammad Nawaz dropped two places to 10th in the bowlers’ rankings.

With several players making substantial gains and reshuffles across categories, the latest ICC update highlights the growing intensity and competitiveness in T20 international cricket.
