Woman killed by ICE agent in Minneapolis sparks outrage

ICE Agent Killed Woman

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026 a tragic shooting incident took place in Minneapolis, where a woman was shot and killed by an ICE agent. The incident left the community in outrage.

After the incident, multiple videos of the incident have surfaced on social media, which showed multiple angles of the scene. In the videos, it can be seen that the incident broke out when a woman tried to stop by near a passing ICE vehicle.

President Donald Trump reacted to the incident on the social media platform Truth Social and claimed that the woman was willfully, violently, and viciously run over by the officer.

Soon after the incident, social media erupted into outrage. Many users started to wonder who the woman that was shot and killed in broad daylight.

She was later identified as Renee Nicole Good.

Renee Nicole Good was 37 years-old woman from Minnesota and was a mother of a 6-year-old son.

The mother of the victim, Donna Ganger, told the Minnesota Star Tribune that Renee lived with her partner in Minneapolis and was a compassionate woman. She had taken care of people all her life.

The incident that took her life happened just a few blocks away from where she lived.

Her mother, Donna, further added that her daughter was not part of any anti-ICE protests challenging ICE agents. She said that her daughter is “not part of anything like that at all.”

An account that seems to belong to Renee Nicole Good describes her as a “Poet and writer and wife and mom and shitty guitar strummer from Colorado; experiencing Minneapolis, MN.”

Following Trump, the US Vice President also said that the woman’s death was the tragedy of her own making.

The New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, on the other hand, fully condemned the incident and said that this is only the latest horror in a year full of cruelty by ICE. He further emphasised that New York stands firm with all the immigrants.
