IG FC North seen among local people post-Bajaur attack

Following the suicide attack on Malangi Post in Bajaur on 16th February, IG Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North, Major General Imran Sartaj Rao, was seen bravely riding a motorcycle among the general public in the Mamond area of Bajaur.

Just two days after the cowardly suicide attack on Bajaur’s Malangi post on February 16, IG Frontier Corps (North), Major General Imran Sartaj Rao, was seen among the general public in the Mamond area of Bajaur without any official protocol.

According to social media reports and local sources, Major General Imran Sartaj Rao chose to ride a motorcycle instead of travelling in the traditional military convoy to review the security situation in the area and boost public morale. He mingled with people on the streets and roads of Mamond like an ordinary citizen, surprising onlookers.

Residents of the area said that at a time when tension was high following the suicide attack, the IGFC’s unrestrained presence among the people demonstrated that the morale of the security forces was strong and that they would not be intimidated by terrorism.

During this visit, Major General Imran Sartaj Rao also spoke with residents, assuring them of full cooperation regarding the law and order situation.

According to analysts, this move by the top military leadership sends a clear message to terrorists that the state will not bow down to them. It has also strengthened the trust between the local population and the security forces. Videos and pictures of Major General Imran Sartaj Rao riding a motorcycle are rapidly going viral on social media, with users praising his courage and humility.
