Installing illegal advertisements is now turned into a massive offence as legal proceedings have been initiated against individuals and groups involved in installing illegal advertisements.
Moreover, FIRs registration process has also started against those advertising without permission from the relevant authorities.
Currently, a large-scale cleanliness and enforcement campaign is underway across the federal capital against illegally placed advertisements, signboards, and wall chalking. The campaign aims to transform Islamabad into a well-organised capital city while preserving its natural and scenic beauty.
The initiative is being carried out jointly by the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA). As part of the operation, numerous illegal advertisements are being removed from the walls of commercial areas, markazs, and residential localities.
Additionally, unauthorised signboards installed along roadsides and advertisement materials affixed to poles are being permanently dismantled.
The campaign has been launched in line with the directions of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
Chief Officer MCI, Dr. Anam Fatima, stated that legal proceedings have been initiated against individuals and groups involved in installing illegal advertisements. She added that the registration of FIRs is ongoing against those advertising without prior permission from the relevant authorities to ensure strict action in accordance with the law.
Dr. Fatima further noted that trade unions and members of the business community are being taken into confidence during the operation and have appreciated the initiative taken by the CDA to improve the city’s outlook.
