Six Afghan doctors working as house officers at the District Headquarters Hospital in Saidu Sharif, Swat, have been directed to stop their house jobs, vacate their hostel accommodation immediately and leave Pakistan, according to an official hospital order.
The order, issued by the hospital’s medical superintendent, cites a Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) memorandum dated October 7, 2026, and directives from the prime minister. It names six doctors and directs the relevant departments to stop their stipends and ensure they vacate the hostel.
Hospital administration said the action was taken to implement the instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
The development comes as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has also issued a notification dismissing 30 doctors serving at different medical facilities across the province.
The dismissed doctors had fake PMDC registrations and secured appointments illegally, according to the information provided by the health authorities.
KP Health Department Acts Against Alleged Illegal Appointments
The dismissal of 30 doctors has raised questions about recruitment procedures and the verification of professional credentials at public-sector health facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The allegations concern doctors posted at different medical centres across the province.
Six Afghan Doctors Ordered to Leave Pakistan
The separate order from District Headquarters Hospital, Swat, instructs six Afghan nationals undertaking house jobs to discontinue their training, leave their hostel accommodation and depart Pakistan.
It also directs the hospital’s accounts section to stop their stipends and forwards copies of the order to relevant hospital departments and officials.
The document refers to a PMDC memorandum and prime ministerial directives but does not itself establish that all six doctors held fake degrees. The stated allegations against the 30 dismissed doctors concern fake PMDC registrations and illegal appointments.
On the other hand, serious allegations of PTI interference, irregular appointments and financial mismanagement have surfaced at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) in Peshawar, with hospital employees calling for an independent investigation into the institution’s governance, recruitment and procurement practices.
According to allegations attributed to hospital employees, Board of Governors (BoG) Chairman Dr Wajid resigned around eight months ago amid disputes over the alleged actions of Dr Sajjad Dawar and members associated with the Insaf Doctors Forum (IDF).
The allegations further claim that Dr Rubina Gillani, described by the complainants as the wife of PTI Senator Noman, subsequently assumed the role of chairperson without proper authority. She is accused of facilitating Dr Dawar’s appointment to five administrative positions simultaneously, raising questions about the hospital’s management structure and oversight.
One Doctor, Five Positions at KTH
According to the claims, Dr Sajjad Dawar was assigned acting or additional charge of the following positions:
-
Hospital Director
-
Associate Hospital Director
-
Chairman, Purchase Committee
-
Chairman, Appointment Committee
-
Member, Management Committee
The complainants question how a doctor described in the statement as a junior clinical assistant professor in the neurosurgery department could hold several senior administrative responsibilities at the same time.
They have called on the relevant authorities to clarify whether these appointments complied with applicable rules and whether the assignments were properly authorised.
