Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan, who were dropped from the third Test match during the England tour, have been given new responsibilities.
According to details, Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan have been included in teams selected for the President’s Trophy Grade-I and Cup.
Imam-ul-Haq, who has reportedly been facing an inquiry, has been appointed captain of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). Similarly, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been appointed vice-captain of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has so far not imposed any kind of ban on either player.
On the other hand, national ODI team captain Shaheen Afridi will represent Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) as the captain as he trains to make a comeback in the national test team of Pakistan, while Shan Masood will perform captaincy duties for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
Salman Ali Agha will be the vice-captain of Kingsmen Academy, while Haris Rauf will play for PTV. The tournament will begin on September 12, while the final will be played from October 24 to 28, 2026.
Inquiry against the national team
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)has launched an inquiry following media reports regarding the discipline and behaviour of national team players during the England tour.
PCB Media Director Amir Mir said in a statement released on social media that the board had started an internal disciplinary investigation following media reports related to discipline and conduct, which is currently being reviewed internally.
According to Amir Mir, the PCB deals with such matters according to its standard procedures, and the investigation is being conducted under the board’s regulations. He said that all relevant individuals are being appropriately considered during the process.
This development came after major changes were made to Pakistan’s Test team. The national team is currently playing the third and final Test match against England in Birmingham.
Following the defeat in the second Test, the Pakistan Cricket Board made changes to seven players in the national squad, including Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan. In addition, the PCB also relieved head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul of their responsibilities. Both coaches had worked with the team for only six matches.
The PCB subsequently handed interim responsibility for the national team to white-ball team coaches Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke.
