The Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), F-10/2, has been closed from September 24, 2026, until further notice due to security concerns in the federal capital, according to the college administration.
The administration said academic activities would continue through online classes during the closure to minimise disruption to students’ studies. Parents will be kept informed about online learning arrangements and other updates through WhatsApp groups, the administration said.
It also announced that mid-term examinations for Classes III, IV and V are scheduled to begin in the first week of October. Parents have been advised to help their children remain focused on their studies and prepare for the examinations.
The closure comes amid heightened security arrangements in Islamabad, where several public educational institutions have been taken over to accommodate additional security personnel ahead of planned political gatherings and protests.
Earlier this week, 24 government educational institutions in the capital were ordered closed from September 22 as part of the security measures. The latest decision specifically affects IMCG F-10/2, with online classes to continue until further notice.
On the other hand, several universities in Punjab have announced online classes for this week as a precautionary measure due to heightened security ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest. Universities in Islamabad include: COMSATS, KMU, Hamdard University, National Skills University, Air University, Fazaia Medical College, Bahria University, International Islamic University, NUTECH, NUML, and others.
Other major universities include: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University (Rawalpindi), UOP (Jhelum Campus), Fatima Jinnah Women University (Rawalpindi), and UET (Taxila).
