Huge updates on Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s court cases

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has fixed February 18 for hearing six cases linked to Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, according to the reports on Friday.

A three-member bench will conduct the hearings. The bench will be led by Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar and will include Justice Salahuddin Panhwar and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim.

The cases include appeals against the Islamabad High Court’s decision to suspend the sentence in the Toshakhana criminal case.

Appeals filed by the Punjab government against the bail of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi will also be heard, according to the reports.

Appeals against Imran Khan’s bail in the May 9 Lahore cases will be heard as well. Defamation appeals filed by Imran Khan against Shehbaz Sharif are also part of the list.

The bench was formed after instructions from Chief Justice Yahya Afridi on February 9. He ordered that all these matters be heard together.

Imran Khan’s health

Barrister Salman Safdar submitted a report to the Supreme Court about the health of Imran Khan.

The report was made public and advised an immediate eye check-up.

“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has demanded examination of his eyes by Dr Faisal Sultan and Asim Yousuf,” the seven-page report submitted by Salman Safdar stated.

The report also suggested that Imran Khan’s eyes should be examined by an expert ophthalmologist.

It further recommended that books should be provided to him because of solitary confinement and no access to a television.

PTI’s sit-in

Today, after the announcement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) to stage a sit-in and protest outside the Parliament House, Islamabad, the main gate of the Parliament House has been closed.

Red Zone

Due to the protests, the Red Zone has been shut off.

Constitution Avenue

A very important avenue for Islamabad residents for travel has been closed off due to the protests.

NADRA Chowk

The PTI protest in Islamabad has also resulted in the shutdown of the NADRA Chowk.

The lights of the Parliment House have been turned off. Previously, the main gate was also closed.
