The medical examination report of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been made public on Monday, confirming a significant improvement in his eye condition following a detailed medical assessment.
Imran Khan’s medical report
According to the report, the 73 year old underwent a detailed medical check up on February 15, 2026. A special medical board conducted the check up.
The board included Professor Dr Nadeem Qureshi from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr Muhammad Arif Khan from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
The report stated that Imran Khan’s central macular thickness has reduced from 550 to 350. It indicated a marked improvement.
The vision in his affected right eye has improved from 6/36 to 6/9. The doctors said that the situation was satisfactory at the current stage.
Without glasses, his right eye vision was recorded at 6/24. And the left eye was 6/9. With corrective glasses, the right eye improved to 6/9, and the left eye reached 6/6.
What medications have been recommended to Imran Khan?
The medical board detailed the current condition of his eyes and also issued recommendations for future treatment.
These include the use of Nevanac eye drops in both eyes two times daily. Additionally, use of Cosopt eye drops in the right eye two times daily, and Systane Ultra eye drops in both eyes three times a day.
The report further advised the second dose of Anti-VEGF injection as per schedule.
Additional diagnostic tests were also recommended. These also include OCT angiography and an FFA test after completion of the Anti-VEGF treatment.
Following the medical board’s visit to Adiala Jail, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas visited PIMS. There medical experts provided them with a detailed briefing on Imran Khan’s condition.
Imran Khan’s personal physicians, Dr Asim Yousaf and Dr Khurram Mirza, were also briefed through telephone.
The medical report has been officially issued with the signatures of both members of the medical board.
