Imran Khan

There has been a major development in Imran Khan’s health, as the PTI founder is expected to undergo a medical examination by doctors soon.

Senior government figures have contacted the PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali. According to ARY News, an important government figure informed Barrister Gohar about ongoing discussions related to Imran Khan’s health.

Medical panel under consideration

The discussions are underway to constitute a doctors’ panel for the medical examination of Imran Khan. The proposed panel, if approved, would conduct a detailed health assessment in the coming days.

Officials have not publicly confirmed the composition or timeline of the panel, and no formal notification has been issued so far.

The move is aimed at addressing concerns raised about the former prime minister’s eyesight. They said the examination would be carried out by qualified doctors and the findings would be documented through official channels.

Examination expected soon

Islamabad-based sources indicated that the medical check-up is expected to take place shortly once procedural requirements are completed. They added that the process would follow standard medical and administrative protocols.

No statement has been released by prison authorities or health officials on the scope of the examination. PTI representatives have also not commented in detail, saying they are awaiting official confirmation.

Recent developments

The developments come at a time when Imran Khan’s health has been a point of concern for his party and supporters. Observers say any decision regarding a medical panel is likely to be closely followed, given the political sensitivity surrounding the case.

For now, officials maintain that no final decision has been announced, and further clarity is expected once authorities issue a formal update.

Imran Khan’s eye condition

The PTI founder has raised concerns about his eyesight while in custody at Adiala Jail.

According to the report, submitted to the Supreme Court, Imran Khan has said that the vision in his right eye has dropped to about 15 per cent. He told the court that his eyesight in both eyes was normal around three to four months earlier, in October 2025.

According to the document, his condition later deteriorated further, leading to a sudden loss of vision in his right eye. Following this, an ophthalmologist from PIMS, Dr Muhammad Arif, examined him.

Imran Khan told the court that doctors diagnosed a blood clot in his eye, which caused serious damage to his vision. He said that although he received treatment, including an injection, the eyesight in his right eye has not recovered and remains severely impaired.

Officials have not publicly commented on the report, and no fresh medical update has been issued so far. The matter remains under review as the court considers the details presented in the submission.
