Imran Khan's report handed over to family, confirms Tarar

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Friday that the medical report of jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been shared with his family.

In a statement posted on X, Attaullah Tarar said the report was prepared by the executive director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and forwarded to the superintendent of Central Jail Rawalpindi (Adiala), who subsequently handed it over to Khan’s family.

The minister said the matter had earlier been raised after the Leader of the Opposition wrote to the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif regarding Imran Khan’s medical condition.

He added that PTI leaders had also approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan, seeking a medical examination of Imran Ahmad Niazi, who is currently serving his sentence at Adiala Jail.

On the other hand, a medical report of PTI founder Imran Khan has been submitted to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).

Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Jamaat Ali Shah, appeared before the ATC, where jail authorities presented Imran Khan’s medical report to the court.

According to the report submitted by Jamaat Ali Shah, Imran Khan has undergone a medical check-up in accordance with the Pakistan Prison Rules.

The report further stated that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being provided with all medical facilities as prescribed under prison regulations.

Two days ago, the court issued a contempt of court notice to the jail superintendent for failing to submit the report. On Friday, the court sought the medical report from the Adiala Jail authorities, which was subsequently presented.
