India abandons Iran as New Delhi exits Chabahar port after US sanctions

India exits Iran's Chabahar port after US sanctions

As Iran faces global pressure, combined with protests at home, India abandoned them and exited the Chabahar port following US sanctions.

The Modi regime’s turbulent involvement in Iran’s Chabahar port has all but collapsed after US President Donald Trump said on January 12 that any country doing business with the Persian Gulf nation will face a 25 per cent tariff “on any and all business being done with the United States of America.”

The conduct of India towards Iran has given the old proverb “Baghal mai churri, muu mai ram ram” a new life. New Delhi’s hypocrisy can be seen in its speaking of friendship and economic cooperation with Tehran.

They collaborate with Iran on projects like Chabahar. However, at the same time the RAW operatives spread venomous propaganda against Iran. They actively try to push it towards internal stability.

India and Afghanistan are running a well-coordinated and calculated information warfare and propaganda campaign against Iran. On various social media platforms fabricated narratives and toxic Indian propaganda are being spread against Iran. Behind this spread are the social media cells of two intelligence agencies. Afghanistan’s GDI and the Indian RAW.

On all social media, and especially on X formally twitter a flood of misinformation is being uploaded from Afghanistan and Indian handles. Iran is currently dealing with an internal matter of protests.

The core objective of Afghan-Indian propaganda campaign is to turn these protests into a full-fledged international crisis. They want to damage the credibility of Iranian state at the global level.

US President on Iran

US President Donald Trump earlier stated that he was considering potential military action against Iran, as deadly crackdowns spread across the country.

“They’re starting to, it looks like,” Trump said, when asked by reporters aboard Air Force One if Iran had crossed his previously stated red line of protesters being killed.

“We’re looking at it very seriously. The military is looking at it, and we’re looking at some very strong options. We’ll make a determination,” he said.

Iran responds to US threats

Iran warned that in case of a US attack during the ongoing wave of protests, it would strike US military and shipping targets.

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said, “In the event of a military attack by the US, both the occupied territory and centres of the US military and shipping will be our legitimate targets.”

Iran protests

The warning of Tehran comes after sources are saying that Israel is on high alert for the possibility of US intervention due to protests in Iran.

The country has been facing demonstrations since December 28. The protests are mainly due to the economic woes of the Iranian people, which include soaring inflation. The Iranian authorities, on the other hand, are accusing Israel and the US of spreading unrest.
