Web desk: Former national security adviser Lt Gen (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua warned that India might once again try a missile strike against Pakistan, and urged authorities to stay alert and ready.
He spoke at a seminar in Lahore titled “Pakistan’s Recent Diplomatic Successes, Future Prospects, and Evolving Defence Strategy”. Janjua said India’s internal political turmoil increases the risk of renewed aggression, The News reported.
He told the audience, “New Delhi knows Pakistan has state-of-the-art missile technology and can effectively counter any malicious designs.” He added, “Pakistan, as the only Islamic nuclear power, will always remain a thorn in the enemy’s side.”
Janjua said Pakistan’s international standing had improved after recent defence advances. He claimed India had grown more isolated on the diplomatic stage.
He also criticised the United States, accusing it of “dismantling Muslim leadership” in Iraq, Libya, Egypt, and Syria. He said Pakistan now represented the “last standing Islamic nuclear power of the Muslim Ummah.”
ISPR: India’s Delusional Remarks Threaten South Asia
Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) strongly denounced statements from senior figures in the Indian security establishment.
ISPR said that the world now sees India as “the true face of cross-border terrorism and the epicentre of regional instability.”
The statement recalled recent conflicts that brought the two nuclear-armed neighbours close to wider conflict.
ISPR said such comments show an attempt to manufacture pretexts for aggression that could destabilise the region.
In a firm and clear warning, ISPR declared, “Pakistan shall not hold back. We shall resolutely respond, without any qualms or restraint”.
Further adding, “Those seeking to establish a new normal must know that Pakistan has established a new normal of response, which will be swift, decisive and destructive. In the face of unwarranted threats and reckless aggression, the people and the Armed Forces of Pakistan have the capability and resolve to take the fight to every nook and corner of the enemy’s territory. This time we shall shatter the myth of geographic immunity, hitting the farthest reaches of the Indian territory”.
The statement ended by rejecting Indian statements about “erasing Pakistan,” and warned that any such attempt would be met with equal force.
